  • She will hit her milestone birthday in July.

  • At 59, the star said she‘s busier than ever.

Actress, producer, and director Vivica A. Fox—as seen in Independence Day, Kill Bill, and most recently, the comedy Not Another Church Movie—will turn 60 in July. And yet, the star has the vitality of a 20-something. How is it that she stays, to use her words, “fine as hell” at her age? Her recipe for healthy aging is a simple one.

“I do my best to drink my water, to take care of myself, and to be happy,” the 59-year-old told People. “I’ve got wonderful, wonderful ladies that I can look up to who got older and better, Tina Turner, Sophia Loren. And it’s like all the baby boomers are getting older and looking fine as hell.”

In a professional environment that historically gives women a sell-by date, Fox is thriving. “I had no idea that this chapter of my life that I would be this booked, busy, and blessed. And I’m grateful,” she said. “I’m so busy I don’t even know what to do with myself. I’m acting, directing, producing, got a hairline, got to work on a clothing line. I do have a lot of options, to be honest with you.”

In another interview on Today With Hoda and Jenna, Hoda Kotb asked Fox how (almost) 60 feels to her. “Well, my knees. I’m not gonna lie, some days, be like, ‘OK, let’s go get us a little help... some shots or something,’” she laughed. In all seriousness, though, she said, “I’m so comfortable in the skin I’m in.”

She said she has plans to hold intimate celebrations for the milestone birthday in a few different locations, so she can be with friends and family. She also told Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that she would like to have a special someone to celebrate with, too.

“I’m wanting to date,” she said. “It’s just limited resources out there, right? Because I’m not getting on an app. I’m old-fashioned. I need to meet you and sparks happen because I just believe people make up stories, saying who and what they are.”

With that, Fox said she’s “taking applications” for a potential partner. “So if you got a friend, I’m good,” she joked. “And I don’t discriminate.”

Happy almost birthday, Vivica!
