Visalia celebrates 33rd Annual Día de Los Niños
VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The City of Visalia held its 33rd Annual Día de Los Niños event Saturday afternoon.
Community members joined the Visalia Parks and Recreation Department and the Tulare County League of Mexican American Women to celebrate the importance of children within the community and support their well-being.
Organizers say they were proud to have brought a Latin American tradition to fruition into the valley.
“Día de Los Niños originated in Mexico and is celebrated across the world. We’re happy to be continuing our annual event here in Visalia with our multi-cultural celebration,” said League President Ashley Martinez.
Families gathered at Visalia’s Summers Park for a range of activities like cornhole, coloring booths, bounce houses, and performances from various dance groups including ballet folkorico.
City and county officials like the Visalia Fire Department, Police Department, and Tulare County Library also showed their support with booths providing activities, hats, and mini-tours of machinery.
