This Virtual Language Learning App Is Offering 60% Off for a Year — and You’ll Get Access to 14 Languages for Under $70 (Video)

While most of us are quarantining at home due to the coronavirus outbreak, it’s a good time to explore new activities. There are only so many shows you can binge watch and TikTok dances you can try before you start to feel bored, so finding a hobby that keeps you busy and stimulates you mentally is key to preventing yourself from going stir-crazy — and luckily, there are an abundance of apps making it r easy to pick up a new interest. One of them is Babbel, a virtual language learning app that’s offering 60 percent off a year’s worth of language courses.

Babbel has courses in 14 languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, Indonesian, Russian, Danish, Norwegian, and English. However, the current sale includes an all-access pass for a year, so you don’t have to pick just one language to learn — you’ll be able to take courses for any of these 14 languages at for no additional price.

The app is accessible via computer and phone, and your progress will be saved even if you access your lessons on multiple devices. Each lesson is pretty bite-sized: Expect to spend 10 to 15 minutes on each.

I’ve been brushing up on my French with this app, and after a week of daily use, I definitely feel myself remembering more of the language than before. That’s because the lessons put a heavy emphasis on the importance of repetition and pronunciation when it comes to learning new words — the more you hear a certain word and its correct translation, the more likely it is to stick with you.

To do this, the app offers interactive conversations for you to partake in, so you feel like you’re actually chatting with someone in the language you’re learning. Most importantly, it also teaches you practical, everyday conversation, so you can feel confident that you’ll be able to hold your own once you’re ready to speak the language with someone who’s fluent.

Normally, 12 months worth of lessons with access to all 14 languages in the system would cost $156, but the 60 percent off discount, brings it down to a flat fee of $63. (After 12 months, the subscription will renew at the higher rate, but you can easily choose to cancel.) And if you’d prefer to be locked in for less than a year, Babbel is also offering50 percent off either six months of lessons for a flat fee of $42 or three months of lessons for a flat fee of $26. These marked-down prices are only available for a limited time, though, so you’ll need to act soon if you want to take advantage of them.

If you’re ready to spend your time indoors learning something new, consider giving Babbel a try.
