A Virtual "Hocus Pocus" Event Featuring the Original Cast Will Air on Halloween Eve

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will reunite for In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover.

It's not a proper Halloween celebration without a screening of Hocus Pocus. The 1993 Disney classic is a seasonal staple, and the cast will be reuniting for an extra-special (and extra-spooky) virtual event this year. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will come together for In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover on October 30. In the fantasy-comedy film, three witches—played by Middler, Parker, and Najimy—are inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night.

Proceeds from the one-hour virtual event will benefit the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), an open-space conservancy founded by Midler in 1995, who played Winnie in the original film. "New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is a non-profit organization driven by the conviction that all New Yorkers deserve beautiful, high-quality public space within ready walking distance of their homes. Since our founding in 1995 by Bette Midler, NYRP has planted trees, renovated gardens, restored parks, and transformed open space for communities throughout New York City's five boroughs," according to the NYRP's website.

Each year, Midler hosts an annual Hulaween fundraising gala for the NYRP but is taking the event online due to the coronavirus pandemic this year. Limited edition merchandise and virtual classes from the Sanderson Sisters Charm School will also be available to fans in the weeks leading up to the event.

Tickets are on sale now for $10, along with benefits packages that include eerie extras that range in price from $650-$70,000. The top package includes 12 passes to the broadcast of Hocus Pocus Hulaween; exclusive pre-show entertainment; your name in Hulaween parody during the broadcast; listing as All Hallows' Eve Sponsor on invitations and in broadcast; invites for (12) to an in-person event in 2021.

While the scary-good event promises to be perfectly safe amid the pandemic, you can watch the original movie 14 times during the "31 Nights of Halloween" programming special on Freeform network, which is owned by Walt Disney Television.
