‘Virgin River’ Star Alexandra Breckenridge Stuns in Photoshoot with a Chic New Choppy ’Do

Thanks to Virgin River, we're used to seeing star Alexandra Breckenridge (aka Melinda “Mel” Monroe), 41, sporting long, wavy locks—something we recently got a refresher of, as the fifth season of the romantic drama just premiered on Netflix. The Connecticut native is throwing us for a loop, however, with a totally new ’do—and let's just say, she is rocking it.

In an Instagram video posted to her page on Friday, Oct. 13, Breckenridge can be seen posing for a photoshoot in Los Angeles while sporting a black two-piece ensemble of a maxi skirt and a crop top cardigan and a new haircut that completely stole the show.

“When In LA. Photo shoot,” the This Is Us star captioned a behind-the-scenes video from the session.

While Breckenridge has been rocking shorter hair as of late, we've never seen it quite this short. In the clip, the 41-year-old plays with her choppy, shoulder-length ’do, showing off the wavy, side-parted styling and the heavy side bangs.

We clearly aren't the only ones obsessed with the new cut. One fan commented, “THE SHORT HAIR SUITS YOU SO MUCH OMG,” (and the comment received nearly 200 likes). Meanwhile, another follower wrote, “Girrrl! You can really wear...short hair!!”

We've been getting a glimpse at Breckenridge's hair evolution thanks to a series of videos that she's been posting to her Instagram page. While taking a break from filming for Virgin River, the actress has been embracing her inner chef, sharing loads of recipes and cooking videos to her account.
