As we prepare for the highly anticipated premiere of Virgin River season three, there’s only one question on our mind: Will the popular Netflix series return for season four? We know, we know—we are just barely getting season three. But if there’s anything we learned from the cliffhanger in the previous finale, it’s best to be one step ahead.

Here’s everything we know about Virgin River season four.

1. Is 'Virgin River' returning for season four?

That’s the plan, even though Netflix hasn’t announced an official premiere date for Virgin River season four. Since production is reportedly set to begin later this month, we expect the new episodes to drop around this time next year.

Virgin River is a fictional town, so most of the show is filmed in Vancouver, Canada. The cast sometimes travels to other B.C. locations, like Squamish, Snug Cove, New Westminster, Squamish, Agassiz and Port Coquitlam.

2. What is 'Virgin River' about?

Based on the books by Robyn Carr, the series follows Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner who moves to the small town of Virgin River for a fresh start. While there, she meets a handsome bar owner named Jack (Martin Henderson), who shows her the true meaning of second chances. Season three of Virgin River further explores Mel’s interest in starting a family, so the next installment will likely follow suit.

3. Who's in the cast?

Series regulars include Breckenridge (Melinda, or “Mel”), Henderson (Jack Sheridan), Daniel Gillies (Mark Monroe), Colin Lawrence (John “Preacher” Middleton), Annette O’Toole (Hope McCrea) and Tim Matheson (Vernon “Doc” Mullins).

Along the way, the cast has welcomed several new faces, like Ben Hollingsworth (Dan Brady), Melinda Dahl (Stacie), Zibby Allen (Brie Sheridan), Stacey Farber (Tara Anderson) and Sarah Dugdale (Lizzie).

4. Is there a trailer?

Not yet. But when Netflix does release a trailer, you can bet we’ll be all over it.
