By now, every Virgin River fan is likely caught up with watching season 5 part 1. But, with that said, Virgin River fans everywhere are also teeming with questions. That's because in the show's truest fashion, we were left with some hefty cliff-hangers!
Well, lucky for us, we're guaranteed a few extra episodes of Virgin River thanks to season 5 part 2 (and eventually season 6). But when is the second half of season 5 set to return? You won't have to worry too much, as we'll be welcoming back the beloved set of characters sooner than you might think. In fact, before the year is over, you can catch up on everything going on in Virgin River during two very special holiday episodes—and it's quite the gift, if you ask us!

How many episodes will be in Virgin River season 5 part 2?
The second part of season 5 will feature 2 new episodes. The first half contained 10 episodes, and if you remember, we were left with some serious questions that need answers. So, we can certainly hope that these next two episodes will help wrap things up.
What will Virgin River season 5 part 2 be about?
There's a lot of directions this could take. Though, we definitely know that these two episodes will be holiday themed. Patrick Sean Smith, a producer for Virgin River, spoke to Glamour recently, letting fans in on what we can expect for the future of the show's plot.
"The holiday episodes are a little bit lighter, and we wanted to play a little more comedy after the weight of this season," Smith said. "It felt like, if we're going to give a holiday gift to the audience, let's make it a fun one."
He went on to share that we can expect to see Mel and Jack trying to track down the man who is her biological father and more about Brie, Mike, Brady and Lark, including "a side of Lark that we haven't really seen yet that might be a little surprising," he said.
Netflix also released a short teaser that proves just how festive and fun the holiday episodes will be!
In the video, we see everyone in the town of Virgin River gearing up for the annual Christmas tree light competition, which is apparently really competitive!
While these upcoming episodes will be rather joyous, there are darker circumstances that the show can't necessarily avoid. Such is the case with the shocking recovery of Wes' body—which was obviously bad news for Preacher and his relationship with Kaia. Though, according to Smith—we will certainly get the answers to that during these holiday specials. (Fingers crossed that it's not terrible news!)
