'Virgin River' Fans Think They Figured Out a Major Season 3 Bombshell

  • Virgin River will return for season 3 on July 9.

  • Last season, we learned that Jack and Charmaine were expecting twins.

  • Some fans aren't so sure that Jack is really the father, causing them to speculate who it could be.

Virgin River fans are starting to have their doubts.

Early on in season 2, we learned that Jack (Martin Henderson) and his on-again, very off-again girlfriend Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) are expecting twins. Charmaine never questioned if Jack was the father, so understandably, neither did he. But now, fans are starting to wonder if there was actually someone else in the picture all along.

It all started when Netflix shared the Virgin River season 3 trailer. At one point, we see Charmaine talking to Jack in his bar (Spoiler alert: He's alive!), saying to him, "I know you were having a hard time adjusting to the whole being a dad thing, but now Todd's here and I'm not alone, so you're free." Despite this remark, fans are still questioning if Jack is really the father, especially given that Netflix teases that the new season will have "death, a fire, custody arguments, breakups and more."

Some Reddit users are piecing together clues from previous episodes to find an answer. One user points to Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini), one of Jack's Marine buddies. When Jack told him he was expecting twins with Charmaine, he had a "super suspicious" response: "Whoa. Jesus. I didn’t know you were still seeing her," Mike quipped.

While Mike seems to be the frontrunner, some fans think we shouldn't be too quick to point fingers based on the information we've been given. "After that weird reaction, he goes back to being normal with Jack. Also doesn’t quite fit as he lives and works in LA, and Jack hadn’t seen him for a few years before the reunion. Can’t rule him out completely though," one fan wrote.

Then there's Brady. This would, of course, cause an even bigger rift between Brady and Jack if it's true. Ben Hollingsworth, the actor who plays Brady, shared his take on the theory in a new interview with Chatting with B: "You can imagine, it’s a small town and I feel like if Brady was with someone like Jack’s girlfriend, he would be really walking a fine line. But, it could be, I don’t know, we’ll see what’s in store." So, take that for what you will.

You can't even turn to the pages of the Virgin River books for answers because they make no mention of Charmaine's pregnancy. Luckily, we don't have to wait much longer to find out the truth!
