Photo: Benjamin Lozovsky, Madison McGaw/BFA.com“For me, it means a celebration or reverence,” said designer Virgil Abloh of his latest release, a limited-edition bottle of Moët & Chandon’s Nectar Impérial Rosé. “There’s a decadence to it, and that’s what gave the inspiration behind my version of it.” The Louis Vuitton and Off-White designer added a label that says, “Do Not Drop”—also the evening’s hashtag—effectively infusing the piece with Abloh’s Midas touch. And last night at the New Museum, guests including Chloë Sevigny, Emily Ratajkowski, and Lucien Smith flocked to congratulate the designer and toast him with the evening’s signature drink.
After brief remarks from Renaud Butel, vice president of Moët & Chandon U.S., and Abloh, it was time for friends including Heron Preston, Shayne Oliver, and Winnie Harlow to tuck into an elegantly composed dinner before grooving late into the night to tracks spun by Venus X. Abloh eventually joined Venus, transforming the Sky Room into the hautest club in Manhattan. Abloh’s preferred outfit for partying with a bit of bubbly? “Whatever one is most comfortable.”
