This Viral Video of a Six-Year-Old Ingrown Hair Being Removed Is Frightening
We know we’re not alone in our guilty pleasure of watching gross-out pimple-popping videos: Dr. Pimple Popper's 2.95 million YouTube subscribers (a.k.a. "popaholics") can attest to that. But today, we’ve found a new guilty pleasure, and it's every bit as horrifying and satisfying as Dr. P's best. Enter: Ingrown hair-removal videos.
A 2015 video shared on Reddit's r/Popping subreddit recently resurfaced what it looks like when a six-year-old ingrown hair gets yanked out by the roots. We've all had ingrown hairs (if you haven't, count your blessings: Those suckers can hurt), but less common is letting one fester for six years. To put that into perspective, six years ago Miley Cyrus was still on Hannah Montana. Six years is a long time.
In the video, we see a person wearing surgical gloves use tweezers to tug at what appears to be a small blemish on another person's shoulder. Soon, though, it becomes obvious that the blemish is actually not a blemish at all, but a giant pocket of ingrown hairs. What emerges from the mass looks like something you'd pull out of your shower drain after a particularly vigorous shampooing sesh. It's seriously gross (but in the best way).
Unsurprisingly, Reddit is here for the gross-out video: To date, the post has racked up more than 237,000 views, plus dozens of comments from die-hard popping fans, most of whom expressed their approval of the extraction ("So disgusting yet so good," one wrote). The video is only about 30 seconds in its entirety, so check it out below (NSFL, obviously).
