This viral TikTok makeup hack is genius for preventing concealer creases

When it comes to beauty hacks, TikTok reigns supreme. Yes, back in the good ol' days we all used to run to YouTube (and that's not to say that we no longer do), but now, the app that started as a platform to create funny little dancing videos has turned into a beauty behemoth – for which it is my go-to for makeup tricks galore.

Recently, the community became divided over a foundation that TikTok named the 'worst ever'... yikes, but now that the controversy has died down, we can return to our regularly scheduled programming, aka the hacks. We've got contouring and eyeliner down, but one very vital (IMO) step that could use a top tip (or two) would be concealer. And well, today is our lucky day folks, for the MUA's have spoken.

TikTok influencer and beauty blogger, Sarah Galyean, posted a one minute 15 second tutorial that now has 1.4 million views (and growing!) talking us through her concealer routine after being told by commenters that she had "flawless" under eyes. My [Gucci] bags could never.

Sarah starts off the video by revealing that she actually uses a swipe of the E.L.F Prep and Hydrate Balm, £9 under her eyes before applying any concealer. She says: "I don't like this anywhere else on my face but my under eyes because I have oily skin, but if you're dry, you know, knock yourself out". Good. To. Know.

Then, she uses the L.A. Girl Pro.Conceal HD High Definition Concealer in Cool Pink Corrector, £3.99 (which is available in various shades) to counteract any darkness. However, instead of directly applying this to her face, she uses the tools that God gave her – her hands! This is because she says that the product will crease otherwise. Sarah applies a touch to her fingertip, warms it up, and then "tap[s] it out".

"You should look crazy... that's how you know you did it right". Lol.

Next up Sarah repeats the previous step but with her everyday concealer. "At this point, you may be tempted to reach for a beauty blender but [...] keep tapping. It feels gross, it feels uncomfortable, it gives us all the ick, but it looks awesome".

Finally, to finish up and set the cream she uses the Jaclyn Cosmetics Bake & Brighten Under Eye Powder Brightening Lilac, £30. And after blending, she permits us to marry it all together with a beauty sponge. Hurrah!

Of course, after seeing the incredible results, the hack was picked up by other beauty creators, including the viral superstar, Mikayla Nogueira.

After testing it out for herself, Mikayla finalises her thoughts on the hack, saying: "The verdict? I think I would do it again".

So, there you have it! Yet another beauty hack to add to the already growing collection. Though, as I always say: the more, the merrier!
