If it seems like Viola Davis is always doing something iconic, that's because she is. Her EGOT? That's old news. Now, the actor is playing Michael Jordan's mother (at his request) in "Air," which follows the basketball legend's early career and sneaker deal with Nike. And at the film's premiere — which had a glossy basketball court in lieu of a red carpet — Davis demonstrated how to subtly dress according to theme.

Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, Davis arrived in a sophisticated, sequined shamrock green dress by Roland Mouret. But her tiny handbag — a small, glittery basketball by Judith Leiber — was the star of the show: It certainly can't fit a phone or be very functional, but it looks beyond cool to carry.

She wore her curls and coils in an afro, like a cloud of perfection. Gold earrings fell near her neck, framing her pink lip and green eye liner.

The whole look was chic, right on-theme and simply beautiful.
