'The View' Star Meghan McCain Posts A Cryptic Tweet After Intense Spat With Joy Behar

From Delish

  • Joy Behar and Meghan McCain got into a heated exchange during Tuesday's episode of The View.

  • While debating about political divides within the Republican and Democratic parties, Meghan interrupted Joy, prompting Joy to say that she "didn't miss" Meghan while she was on her maternity leave.

  • Tuesday marked Meghan's second time on The View since temporarily leaving the show in late September to give birth to her daughter, Liberty.

  • After her on-air fight with Joy, Meghan posted a cryptic tweet that seemed to address her feelings about the tense moment.

Whoopi Goldberg's moderating skills were put to the test Tuesday on The View when an argument broke out on air between Joy Behar and Meghan McCain.

Their tense exchange started when the cohosts were discussing the political divides within the Republican party. When Joy said she thought Republicans were in "much more trouble" than Democrats, Meghan, the show's resident conservative cohost, interrupted Joy with her own opinion. While labeling Joy's comment as "completely inaccurate," Meghan cited a few examples of disagreements within the Democratic party, including Bernie Sanders's recent criticism of President-elect Joe Biden's cabinet picks.

Not surprisingly, the interjection didn't sit well with Joy, who told Meghan that she wasn't finished speaking. Then when Joy tried to reinsert into the conversation, Meghan once again cut the cohost off.

"You missed me so much, Joy. You missed me so much when I was on maternity leave. You missed me so much, you missed fighting with me," Meghan, who just returned on Monday from her maternity leave, remarked.

But Joy simply wasn't having it. "I did not. I did not miss you. Zero," Joy responded.

Angered by Joy's dismissal, Meghan then called her cohost's comments "so nasty" and "rude" while clarifying that she was merely "teasing" the longtime cohost. Hoping to diffuse the tension, Whoopi asked Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines if they had thoughts to share.

"Guys, hold on. Hold on. Everybody stop. Everybody stop," Whoopi declared. "This is not the way to do it, and so I'm going to now become Whoopi and say, 'Sara, I'd like to hear from you right now.'"

Unfortunately, the drama didn't end there. When Sara started to weigh in, she asked Meghan whether she thought President Donald Trump's influence would continue past his time in the White House. This prompted Meghan to say, "I think Sunny was trying to talk, so you should just ask her."

Once again, Whoopi was tasked with getting everybody back on track. After Meghan confessed that she was "lost" and apologized for being "thrown off," Whoopi asked Sunny to speak, and the rest of the segment went on normally.

Hours later, Meghan tweeted the quote, "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." Given the timing of the post, it appears Meghan posted the quote in response to her on-air spat with Joy.

Meanwhile, Joy didn't seem to address the feud on social media.
