Ever since the third season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend premiered this Friday, everyone has been spontaneously breaking out in song. More specifically, everyone is singing the episode’s breakout hit, “Let’s Generalize About Men,” because it’s the hilarious misandrist anthem that the world needs right now.

One of the best things about Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is that Rebecca Bunch manages to say what everyone wishes they could say (or, in this case, sing) while also pointing out just how ridiculous it is. “Let’s Generalize About Men” is the perfect example of why Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is one of the best shows on TV. It satisfyingly expresses things that are annoying about men while also poking holes in the broad generalizations people make when talking smack with their friends.

Because the lyrics of “Let’s Generalize About Men” are just so perfect, we want to know more about it. And that’s when the beauty of social media really becomes palpable. That’s because Rachel Bloom, the brains behind Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and the actress who plays Rebecca Bunch, shared some behind the scenes videos from creating the masterpiece on her Instagram. And they’re so much fun.

In one Instagram post, Rachel Bloom showed the girls practicing the choreography.

Yes! Bloom, Donna Lynne Champlin (who plays Paula), Gabrielle Ruiz (who plays Valencia), and Vella Lovell (who plays Heather) look so amazing while body-rolling and singing the hilarious lyrics, “Let’s get super lit and not admit this is some kind of primal ritual we need now and then.”

In another video, Bloom shows the ladies singing the song at the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend table read.

Yeah, it’s pretty exciting that we get to see Josh’s reaction to Bloom singing, “There are not exceptions, all three million men are like this!” Considering that Josh left Rebecca at the alter, her character needs to denigrate and denounce the entire male gender, and doing that with one’s girlfriends really is a part of the healing process after a bad breakup.

We’ve all been there.

Laughing is also important, and “Let’s Generalize About Men” successfully satirizes the wine-infused nights shared among a group of girls who just need to make unfounded statements about why men are terrible. Like saying, “All every man does everyday is watch porn, eat wings, burp, fart, and snore.”

It’s all in good fun on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. And “Let’s Generalize About Men” is just about one of the funniest songs ever made.
