VIDEO: Watch Skimboarder's Amazing Footage of Killer Whales Devouring Dolphin, Cruising California Waters

After what seems like an endless Shark Week, we've been treated to an extended episode of Whales Gone Wild.

About a week ago, footage surfaced of a huge gray whale cruising by surfers in San Diego. Right after Christmas, a baby humpback whale wandered the Honolulu shoreline, lost without its mother. Before that, a whale shot the Hermosa Beach pier, and marine biologists filmed a whale shark in Hawaii.

In the latest whale footage below shot by pro skimboarder Blair Conklin, the scene goes from gory to gorgeous.

The video above was released on Conklin's YouTube channel, Skid Kids. Captioning it, he wrote:

"Killer Whales of the Eastern Tropical Pacific pay a visit to the Orange County Coast and are aggressive towards the dolphins.

"This is a bit different than our normal scheduled programming at SkidKids, but we are so excited about the footage that we filmed from our drone that we just had to share!

"Killer whales are found in all the world’s oceans, from tropical to polar waters and coastal to offshore environments."

According to the narrator, the footage of eastern tropical Pacific killer whales devouring a dolphin was shared by someone on the boat off of Dana Point. He said it's "rare" to see them in the area.

At the start of the video, a whale devours a dolphin, leaving a bloody cloud in the water.

The remainder of the video is pure beauty, filmed about a mile off of Aliso Beach.

The voice behind the camera (probably Blair?) explains:

"That was a pretty special encounter where they witnessed a dolphin getting attacked by a killer whale.

"I just received a drone for Christmas and this is the second flight I took with it. Pretty much the most incredible drone footage I've ever captured. I hope you enjoy."
