VIDEO: Tour the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel

For four decades, Inkaterra has been developing Peru’s sustainable tourism industry—preserving the country’s lush cloud forest, the Madre de Dios River, and aiding the indigenous peoples—while introducing the rich culture and beauty of the region to travelers from around the globe. GLP Films provides an exclusive look at one of Inkaterra’s most beloved properties, the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel.

While visiting the famed Lost City of the Incas, guests bed down in one of the property’s 85 cottages, where the surrounding forests and mountains, as well as the mysticism of the land, inspire every design feature. Villas are outfitted with open-air showers and wood-burning fireplaces, while pueblo-style casitas boast terracotta tile floors and thick alpaca blankets. Casitas are shrouded by the foliage while villas have private plunge pools and personal butlers.

During the day, locals lead lodgers through the world’s largest orchid garden (home to more than 370 native species, including the largest on earth, the Phragmipedium caudatum). Visitors can also take part in traditional ceremonies led by Shamans, toasting the sacred deities and elements with chichi de jora, a corn beer. At night, unwind at the Unu Spa in the Andean eucalyptus sauna, or with a purifying coca leaf body mask.
