Video: '10-15 Foot' Waves Slam New Jersey, Ben Gravy Busts Out the Jetski
Following an historic bomb cyclone swell back in December, which brought the biggest waves in years to the New Jersey shoreline, another run of waves has made landfall on the Garden State in recent days, and there’s even more on the way.
And so, New Jersey native, soft-top aficionado, and novelty wave specialist, Ben Gravy, put his weird wave world tour on pause to score some crazy surf around home.
“10-15 foot” waves were forecasted, as Gravy titled his swell chase vlog below; and Gravy decided to take the jetski out to bag some bombs.
Captioning the clip, Gravy wrote:
“Another week in New Jersey Winter 2023/2024 equals another bombing swell! The surf has been all time at home & we've decided that we're tired of not catching the set of the day so I'm breaking out my Seadoo Wave Runner to see what we can do. Before California & after having the opportunity to surf "12ft seas" at home has been a treat! Hopefully this Winter keeps churning out the big waves FOR THE DREAM!!! – Ben”
From there, Gravy and his crew of “guinea pigs” – his words – took turns stepping off the ski into some uncrowded, pretty pumping, decidedly not “10-15 foot” yet still overhead New Jersey kegs.
And it’s not over yet; as mentioned before, there’s more waves on the way for New Jersey, with this latest pulse of swell running through the weekend.
