Victoria Beckham Wore Flat Sandals and Her Fans Are Shocked

The world has officially turned upside down: Victoria Beckham went out in public wearing shoes that were not heels. We know…we cannot believe what we just wrote, but it’s true.

If you don’t know the glamour girl like we do, this might not come as a shock to you, especially since she swore off heels earlier this year. “I just can’t do heels anymore. At least not when I’m working,” the 41-year-old designer shockingly told The Telegraph in a February interview. “I travel a lot. Clothes have to be simple and comfortable.”

Of course, we didn’t believe that would actually happen — we’re not sure the woman knows how to walk in flats — and we were right. The star sported a pair of sexy red stilettos on Thursday and a pair of black pumps a few weeks after making that bold statement about not wearing the things. She just can’t stay away.

But in all honesty, for a woman who sleeps in heels, “not doing heels anymore” means wearing them only like four times a week. And she’s kept to that promise, wearing flip-flops in Kenya and flat gladiator sandals to promote her VBxEsteeLauder collection.

It’s weird to see her in flats, but it’s even weirder to see her in Birkenstocks. OK, they’re not definitely Birkenstocks, but they look like the crunchy beloved-by-hippy shoes. Beckham attended an Art Basel event in Miami, Fla., yesterday sporting a white button down, jeans rolled up at the ankle and a pair of black strappy Birkenstock-esque sandals. Since the photo is from behind, our first thoughts were, “it can’t be her,” but we’d recognize that lob anywhere.

Of course, her fans are stunned. “Omg a picture without heals! You are a real woman!! ????” one follower wrote. “You’ve changed vicky ❤️” another noted.

“I am happy for your feet ;p” said another. “You’re wearing flats @victoriabeckham !! ???? They just couldn’t get over it. “surprising ! youre not with the heels :D” “not high heels！！!”

“What kind of sandals are those?” asked a commenter. We’re wondering the same thing.
