Victoria Beckham Puts a Posh Twist On the Scarf Print Skirt
Victoria Beckham jetted out of Madrid and headed back to London on Friday after being toasted by Vogue Spain for her February cover. Beckham dressed for the occasion in a frilly collared dancing emoji dress, but for her departure, the designer took a different approach focused on an easy and effortless skirt silhouette with roots in vacation style. She stepped out in a simple navy turtleneck paired with an oxblood and white skirt featuring an oversize floral motif, which made for a very demure, yet impactful, approach to the scarf print bottom.
Beckham has played with prints in the past — abstract marble motifs, check print pajamas — but yesterday’s ensemble was an inspired and clever approach to infusing the designer’s traditionally minimal aesthetic with a bold touch. Complementing the skirt were Beckham’s tonally coordinated oxblood boots, while Céline shield shades finished the ensemble with a paparazzi-proof finish.
But Beckham didn’t stop with one scarf print skirt. Taking to her Instagram, Beckham also highlighted two additional styles (both from her Pre-Fall 2018 collection) that she was testing prior to selecting her winning look. A contrasting striped dress with a bicolor palette was fresh and light, while an embroidered ivory version was quietly elegant. The perfect punctuation for both? Pastel stilettos with a posh finish, naturally.
