Victoria Beckham Just Launched Her First Watch Collection With Breitling

Posh Spice just added a new line to her resume: watch designer.

After spending years as a collector, Victoria Beckham—the former Spice Girl and award-winning fashion designer—has teamed up with Breitling to release her first collection of timepieces. The trendsetter has applied her distinctly elegant aesthetic to the Swiss brand’s new Chronomat 36 Victoria Beckham. The watch, available in stainless steel or gold, is a time-and-date model with an integrated bracelet, and your option of bold blue or green dials. (You can also choose a silver dial with the stainless steel model, or a Champagne dial for the gold model.) It’s an important milestone for Beckham, but it also helps to mark Breitling’s 140th year in business. And that rich history is what drew Beckham to work with the esteemed house.

“I was very attracted by the heritage of Breitling as a brand,” Beckham says in a statement. “I like what they have stood for as a brand for over a century. That’s always been very important to me when I’m investing in a watch for my own collection—I want a watch that I’m going to wear for many years and then pass down to my children.”

Beckham says the approach to designing the watch was similar to how she develops her clothing line each season, drawing on her surroundings and experiences for inspiration. Yet, despite being a tenured fashion designer, the Chronomat 36 Victoria Beckham marks her first foray into watch design, and she was surprised to learn how it could challenge her in new ways.

“When it comes to designing watches, there are a lot more constraints than for instance, designing a ready-to-wear collection,” shares Beckham. “When you’re dealing with such small real estate, there are limits to what can be done—I wasn’t expecting that, but that’s the nature of watchmaking, and I really enjoyed the challenge and the process of learning from Breitling how we could translate my vision into these timepieces.”

The most eye-catching aspect of the Chronomat 36 Victoria Beckham collection is the combination of dial colors and metal choices. For Beckham, the color story is always crucial in expressing the feeling she wants to convey, and we see this attention to detail in the four unique dial shades that Breitling created exclusively for her Chronomat 36 line. In addition, Beckham wanted to push the boundaries of the collection by including both stainless steel and yellow gold, marking the first yellow gold model to enter the modern Chronomat lineup.

The Chronomat 36 Victoria Beckham collection is available in both stainless steel and yellow gold, and each model in the collection comes equipped with Breitling’s COSC-certified, self-winding Caliber 10 movement. The stainless steel iterations start at $5,600 and go up to $5,950 for the dove gray dial featuring lab-grown diamond hour markers and are available in a limited run of just 400 pieces each. Alternatively, the yellow gold versions are priced at $29,500 and limited to just 100 pieces each.
