Victoria Beckham Has a Genius Trick for Making Lips Look Fuller

There are very few topics about which we wouldn't accept advice from Victoria Beckham. She's a hugely successful pop star, fashion designer, mom, and beauty mogul whose makeup is seemingly perfect at all times. She learned some of those makeup skills from Lisa Eldridge, but in a new YouTube video with the beloved makeup artist and fellow Brit, it's Beckham who shares a super-smart trick she uses for adding fullness to her signature nude lip look.

In the 23-minute clip, Beckham and Eldridge are doing their makeup for Beckham's Christmas party and chatting about their techniques as they go. Early on in the process, as Eldridge is doing her eye shadow, Beckham starts applying her lip look with her Victoria Beckham Beauty Bitten Lip Tint and Lip Definer in what appears to be the warm nude shade #2.

Right off the bat, she gives a great tip about using the Lip Tint. "So what I do for my nude lip is I take my Bitten Lip Tint and I put it on," Beckham says. "I feel that I can get a better precision if I apply it to quite a dry lip, and it really does suck up the product."

The next step, with the Lip Definer, is one you've probably heard before about making lips look a bit bigger with lip liner. "What I tend to do is go around the outside part of the lip. So I go around the outside, making sure I don’t forget the inside as well," she says. But then she shares a clever trick you may have never heard before. "And then the other little tip: Around the bow of my lip here — what I do on the bow is, once I’ve got a nice shape, I draw a straight line across it as well, which just gives an even fuller lip."

Such a small detail, but it makes such a big difference.

Later in the video, we learn there may be one area where Beckham can't provide guidance: hair. As Eldridge laments her own inability to style her hair, Beckham chimes in to relate. "I can’t do my own hair," she declares. "I reckon that 99 percent of the time, I literally wash my hair, I hold my head upside-down, I rough-dry it, and then I literally get a hair bobble and I stick it in a bun on top of my head. And that’s how I go to work every single day because I just cannot do my own hair."

Well, her signature topknot looks as fantastic as her signature nude lip, so I think I'll be trying both her lip liner trick and her daily bun technique.
