Dogs can be so needy sometimes, especially when they are feeling frightened or anxious. Most veterinary practices are pretty busy places, and even though the people who work there love to be able to provide their patients with a little extra attention, it isn't always possible.

Check out the following video posted by TikTok user @Fourpawsatfulshearvet of how they kept sweet Baxter calm and happy when a human wasn't available.

LOL how hilariously awesome is this? Some TikTok users are familiar with this little trick to keep animals company and @Ashley says, "My job did this before, we called the sack of clothes “Stiffany.” Another user replies, "When my dog had surgery he was crying so bad in his kennel they had to put a life size cut out of Edward Cullen in his room." LOL! @Kim says, "We have used a cardboard cutout of William Shatner before lmao." @Plusheon says, "It's an anti-scarecrow. a comfortcrow." @Ashely adds, "I had to play an audio book for a dog once all night. It was the only thing that would calm her if there wasn’t a person."

The best comment comes from @Rebecca who replies, "Vet techs could solve world hunger if given time and minimal resources I swear." That is so true! They are angels on earth!

Most vet offices will allow you to being familiar items from home to comfort your fur baby, like a favorite toy or blanket or an old T-shirt that smells like you. It never hurts to ask, just in case they don't have a resident "carecrow."
