Vermont Ski Resort Hit With Major Flooding

Vermont experienced significant consequences due to heavy rainfall overnight, causing rivers to surge, roads to sustain damage, and necessitating the rescue of numerous individuals by boat. Certain areas of the state received over 4 inches of rain, with additional precipitation anticipated.

The downpour resulted in residents being stranded in towns severely impacted by the adverse weather, such as Londonderry, Weston, and Ludlow. By Monday afternoon, the Burlington office of the National Weather Service cautioned that the danger might transition from flash flooding to widespread river flooding, including the Winooski River in Montpelier.
