Verizon Smart Rewards Is Low-Key One of the Best Places to Score Beauty Deals

Pay cell phone bill; collect beauty products.

When was the last time you felt joy while looking at your cell phone provider's website? Never, probably. That's an unlikely situation (shout out to data fees). And yet, here are the times we live in: Verizon's Smart Rewards marketplace is low-key one of the best places to buy beauty products online. Yep, that Verizon.

First spotted by the continually amazing detectives on makeup Reddit, Verizon runs a free bonus program called Verizon Smart Rewards. In this mystical land, members sign up and earn reward points just by doing things like paying your bill and going paper-free. It kind of feels like a participation trophy, but we'll take it (millennials, what can we say! Love to be rewarded for our dedication, right? That's what everyone was thinking?). And if you've already been doing these things, you probably have a treasure trove of points waiting for you. Just registering gets you 10,000 points, which you can use for discounts on sweet, sweet beauty products. For an idea of the beauty deals we're talking, a twofer of Glamglow's Supermud and Powercleanse typically costs $87; with a 4,000 point discount, it comes down to $47. With free shipping. We know.

The marketplace is a little tricky to find, but it's worth it: Find the selection under the "My Verizon" tab, then click "My Profile," "Verizon Smart Rewards,""Merchandise," and finally "Beauty." You'll see an abundance of deals from brands like RMS, Stila, Coola, Peter Thomas Roth, Korres and CK One Color—now discontinued, so act quickly, CK lovers. There's Supergoop, Essie, Becca, Stila, Sunday Riley, and more. If we had to compare the discovery to a gif, it'd be Maria Von Trapp spinning around in the mountains, but the mountains are beauty deals. Mentally overlap the vibe of Oprah's iconic "And you get a car!" and that's where we're at.

Most of the cuts hover around a 25 percent discount, but it's hard to pinpoint Verizon's exact science (we've reached out to the company for more details, and will update when we hear back). Spend your opening 10,000 points at once, and you get $100 off a T3 PROi Dryer. Jaw = on the floor. The site also includes how its price stacks up to other retailers, so you can hold in your heart the exact percentage you're getting off.

Ulta rewards program, we know you, we love you, but this might just be your match. The definite advantage is you don't have to buy products to earn products—basically just pay your cell phone bill, pass go, and collect points. For something we'd be doing anyways, we're here for it. We're here for it very much.
