It was the obvious next step: Velveeta is venturing into ready-to-eat queso products with the introduction of three new dips conveniently served in screw-top jars.

For years we've used silky smooth Velveeta as an ingredient in queso recipes, melting it down to blend with Ro-Tel, sausage, and other ingredients. The company says that shoppers purchase 125 million pounds of Velveeta loaf (what they call those solid cheese blocks) each year to make cheesy party dips. (Of course, cubes of Velveeta frequently make the ingredient list in velvety and creamy macaroni recipes as well.)

As of now, you can just pick up a jar of pre-made Velveeta cheese dip in Queso Con Salsa, Queso Blanco, or Jalapeño flavors. Pour the dip into your fanciest queso bowl, set it on a platter encircled with tortilla chips, and you're ready to get the party started.

Velveeta simultaneously released three new varieties of its Shells & Cheese pasta: Pizza, Buffalo, and Gluten-Free. They are the company's first Shells & Cheese introductions in 12 years.

“At Velveeta we are continuing to take big swings to establish ourselves as part of culture, pushing the boundaries not just in marketing but also innovation as we strive to captivate a younger audience,” Director Alison Kelly stated in a news release.

The company notes that their pre-made queso provides more than just convenient party preparation. Now you can enjoy "everyday indulgence" for a party of one, then seal up the jar. We'll do our best not to finish off that bag of chips in one sitting.
