Varieties of Frozen Meat and Poultry Are Being Recalled in Multiple States—Here's Why

If you've been to your local meat market lately to stock up on your favorite proteins, you may want to double check your packaging. New York-based establishment Kingsland Food Processing Corp. has recalled an undetermined amount of frozen meat and poultry products, effectively immediately.

According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recall notice — which was issued on July 27 — includes meat and poultry products produced on various dates ranging from November 1, 2022 to July 20, 2023. As the recall notes, the items in question were produced "without the benefit of federal inspection" and the issue was discovered with FSIS inspection personnel observed products being produced "in rooms that are not within the official premises of the establishment."
