Pat Sajak hasn't been taping episodes of Wheel of Fortune lately — instead, his longtime co-host Vanna White has temporarily taken over his hosting duties. That's because the 73-year-old game show legend had to cancel a taping earlier this month to undergo emergency surgery to fix a blocked intestine, according to Wheel of Fortune's Instagram post.

Thankfully, on November 8, the show announced Pat was "resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work." Three days later, Pat wrote on Twitter that he is "grateful" for all of the fans' encouraging words and declared that "the worst has passed."

Where is Pat Sajak now and what's the latest on his health?

On November 15, the show shared a message from the host and clarified that Pat was "on the mend" and back at home where he will "continue to recuperate."

Pat himself said:

"Getting back home has given me the time to reflect on — and appreciate — the love and support of my family, friends, co-workers, casual acquaintances and countless Wheel Watchers. Recovery will be complete and relatively fast. And for better or worse, doctors tell me they did not remove my sense of humor. See you all soon."

Meanwhile, Vanna has been nothing but supportive in wishing Pat a speedy recovery.

"Wheel of Fortune without @patsajak is like a word without vowels," she tweeted, cracking a joke. "I’ll fill in the blanks until you return. Rest up and we’ll be solving puzzles in no time. (Don’t worry, your job is safe! Well, pretty safe.)"

It's not clear when Pat will start taping Wheel of Fortune episodes again, but hopefully it'll be really soon.
