Vanessa Hudgens’s First Appearance Since the Austin Butler Split Is a Total Mood

Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler reportedly went their separate ways after almost nine years together, sending fans into a collective period of mourning. Vanessa Hudgens herself, who was living her best life on the red carpet for the premiere of Bad Boys for Life on Tuesday night (January 14).

Hudgens, who stars in the third installment of the Bad Boys franchise with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, was too busy having a good time to address the rumors, which sources confirmed this week. According to someone who spoke to Us Weekly, “Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup.” And while she may have been opening up about the sitch to her friends, she clearly was not going to dwell on it at the premiere. The photos speak for themselves, and they’re a total mood.

Twitter was all about Hudgens’s energy. “Vanessa Hudgens said I gotta go my own way,” one fan joked on social media, referencing her epic breakup song with Zac Efron from High School Musical 2. “She’s clearly unbothered and looks absolutely stunning,” another person said.

Butler and Hudgens started dating in 2011. In 2018 the holiday rom-com star opened up about the relationship, saying of Butler, “He inspires me more than anyone. We both respect, trust, and admire each other. It’s so solid now because I feel strong as an independent woman. I am very self-reliant, but it’s nice to have a best friend you can share victories with as well as losses.”

Rumors of a breakup started swirling after fans noticed Hudgens had posted lots of Instagram photos during the holidays and on vacation that didn’t include Butler. Neither of them have publicly confirmed the breakup, but regardless of what’s going on, Hudgens seems totally fine.
