How Vanessa Hudgens zaps her way to clearer skin

Makeup can mask a multitude of “imperfections,” and when you’ve got access to the world’s best makeup artists, like Vanessa Hudgens does, you can look like you woke up flawless in a matter of minutes. But even she knows that the foundation to having perfect skin lies in practicing good skincare habits.

Yahoo Lifestyle recently sat down with Hudgens, 30, and she spilled all the details on what she does to get clear skin. Prepare to take notes!

Drinking lots of water obviously helps, and the star has upped her hydration by downing Propel Vitamin Boost, which is loaded in vitamins B, C, E, as well as electrolytes.

Hudgens also exercises consistently. She admits that her trick is to book a class the night before. “By doing that, it doesn’t give me that time of lying in the bed thinking about how I don’t want to get out of bed,” she says. “Just get dressed and go!” Breaking a sweat is known to give you a post-workout glow because your body is pumping more blood and this circulates oxygen and other nutrients (like the minerals in that fancy water she drinks), making for healthy, glowy skin.

But don’t get it twisted. The actress admits she works really hard to achieve a clear complexion. Her morning and night routine is pretty extensive, but that’s no surprise considering she told Shape that her goal is to “hold off on Botox and fillers until I really, really, really need it.” Instead, Hudgens makes sure to cleanse her face twice (even after using makeup remover wipes), do facial steaming, light therapy, then slather on moisturizer and eye cream.

By adding at-home tools to her regimen that incorporate microcurrents and LED light dermatologists recommend for boosting elastin and collagen production, Hudgens is enhancing the effectiveness of the cleansers and creams she swears by. And from the look of her red-carpet photos, we can tell it’s all working!
