When your significant other achieves something big, you want to shout it from the rooftops, or at least post a proud photo on Instagram.

And that's exactly what actress Vanessa Hudgens did to celebrate her boyfriend, Austin Butler's, exciting career news. The very "proud" girlfriend shared a post announcing Austin's upcoming role as Elvis Presley in an untitled biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann on Instagram.

Just like any excited (and caps lock-loving) girlfriend, she captioned the post: "I AMMMM OVERRRR THE F***KING MOOOOOOOOONNNNN. I CANT WAIT 😍😍😍😍😍😍 SO PROUD OF MY HONEYYYYY!!!"

And while you'll probably get to know Austin a lot better over the next few months (he's bound to become a household name, calling it now), he's currently the lesser-known half of this celeb couple. Here's everything you need to know about this star on the rise:

Austin beat out some stiff competition to play 'The King,' Elvis Presley.

It's no wonder Vanessa is enthusiastic. Her BF beat out Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, and Harry Styles to star in the untitled biopic about the singer's journey to stardom, Deadline reported. "I knew unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures," Luhrmann told the publication.

You can catch Austin in theaters now.

Vanessa's beau has been busy filming lately. He stars opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a fictionalized take on Sharon Tate's infamous death.

He's also in Jim Jarmusch’s The Dead Don’t Die alongside Bill Murray and Adam Driver. So, if you want a little preview of his acting skills, now's the time.

They met when Vanessa was filming High School Musical.

Vanessa was dating Zac Efron at the time, so the pair started out just as friends. Dating rumors first started to fly in 2011, when the couple was spotted out and about together by Hollywood Life and other publications.

Vanessa has called Austin "the love of my life."

In an Instagram post from 2014, Vanessa shared, "Yesterday was the love of my life's birthday. Happy birthday to the man with the kindest heart, beautiful soul, crazy talent and best looks I've ever seen. He never stops inspiring me in every aspect of life and always lifts those around him up higher. I thank god so greatly for blessing the world 23 years ago by creating Austin Butler."

Not to be outdone, Austin called Vanessa "the light of my life."

He shared an artsy photo and quoted Pablo Neruda in his birthday post. "'Then love knew it was called love. And when I lifted my eyes to your name, suddenly your heart showed me my way.'-Pablo Neruda Happy Birthday to the light of my life @vanessahudgens," he wrote. (Awwwww.)

Austin starred on Broadway last year.

In 2018, Austin played Don Parritt in The Iceman Cometh, for which Broadway.com called him "a hot up-and-comer."

And, according to an interview with the publication, he worked super hard to prepare for his Broadway debut. "I actually paid somebody to read the scenes with me every day from November through January, when we started rehearsing. I had the whole play in my mind," he said.

Austin also played Carrie Bradshaw's boyfriend in The Carrie Diaries.

Vanessa's hunk played another heartthrob, Sebastian Kydd, a.k.a. young Carrie Bradshaw's high school boyfriend, in The Carrie Diaries. (Real talk: is there anything this dude can't do?)

Austin is a yogi, just like Vanessa.

Vanessa previously told Women's Health that she often practices yoga with Austin. (Btw, that's just one of the six or more workouts she does every week.)

"To be self-motivated consistently is almost a daydream," she said. "I reach out to friends to hold me accountable."

And while accountability is great and all, hopefully the fit couple can squeeze in a little bubbly break to celebrate Austin's awesome news between workouts.
