They're Uggs, but not your average Uggs.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens is getting ready to walk down the aisle — but not before an epic girl’s trip to Aspen, Colorado that was filled with iconic moments (duh!) and even more iconic outfits (double duh!). You can best bet I’m talking notes.

Baby V never fails to serve fashion; she wears outfits that push boundaries and she kills it every single time. I usually play it safe with my looks, but whenever I see Hudgens’ latest and greatest outfit creations, I think to myself: “I should really do something more daring.” That said, her bach was timed perfectly with one of her favorite holidays: Halloween. So you can best bet the bridal-inspired sartorial moments were dark and spooky. Corpse bride, anyone? Double on theme.

However, there were more low-key style standouts that I will be recreating ASAP, like her oversized baseball jersey, leggings, thick socks, and chunky boots look that reads sporty-cool. And while everything deserves mention and your attention, it’s her footwear of choice that’s a cut above the rest, because, well, it’s simply a must-have for fall. Yes, I’m talking about those Ugg boots and no, it’s not the Uggs you’re probably thinking about.

Hudgens is a Ugg stan through and through — just like me — so the fact that she packed the brand’s shoe for her pre-wedding getaway is no surprise. But for this Aspen outing, which probably entailed some hiking, the actress went with a waterproof hiking boot that’s a game-changer for this time of year — whether you find yourself on the trails or not. Hudgens’ exact Ugg boots feature the aforementioned waterproof exterior, which is simply a must, as we know how much water can wreak havoc on our shoes, and because a rainy day can strike at a moment’s notice. In addition to the durable exterior, which also includes a high-traction sole that’ll keep you safely on your feet in rain or snow, you’ll find a cuddly interior with Ugg’s plush lining that’s designed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as -32 degrees fahrenheit. Talk about a durable boot.

Having grown up in Minnesota, where the weather can majorly drop and the snow majorly fall, I know how important a warm, well-made boot is — and that’s why I’m definitely adding Hudgens’ pair to my rotation. But even if you don’t live in extreme cold, chunky hiking boots like the actress’ are worth making yours because, well, it looks cool, too. And while some styles can come in at a high price point, they’re worth it because they’ll last you a long time.

There are no limits as to where you can wear chunky hiking boots. And once you try them, you’ll see why they’re a total must. Shop some more styles inspired by Hudgens’ pair, below.
