Kobe Bryant's legacy will be immortalized in a big way.

On Aug. 24, the Lakers announced that there will be a statue made in the late basketball legend's honor.

The NBA superstar's widow Vanessa Bryant appeared in a video shared by the team, in which she divulged details to fans.

"As you know, Kobe played his entire 20-year NBA career as a Los Angeles Laker. Since arriving in the city, and joining the Lakers organization, he felt at home here, playing in the City of Angels," she said.

Vanessa continued, "On behalf of the Lakers, my daughters, and me, I am so honored that right in the center of Los Angeles, in front of the place known as 'The House that Kobe Built', we are going to unveil a statue, so that his legacy can be celebrated forever. Hope to see you there."

The caption notes that the statue will be inaugurated on February 8, 2024 at Staples Center.
