NBC recently revealed that for the first time in four years (and the third time ever), a contestant on American Ninja Warrior will take home the competition's $1 million prize. While the winner remains to be seen, one thing is certain: Vance Walker is one to watch.

The 18-year-old finalist from Tampa, Fla. (nicknamed "Walker Texas Ranger" because he's originally from the Lone Star state), is competing on the show for the third time this season, after an impressive rookie turnout in Season 13 and a disappointing performance in Season 14 (he went down on the jumping spider).

Making Walker's athletic prowess all the more impressive is the fact that he has a form of cerebral palsy called spastic diplegia in his legs. He wore braces from 18 months to first grade and to this day attends physical therapy to manage the condition, which can cause his calves to cramp up if he doesn't properly stretch.

The American Ninja Warrior finals begin Monday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
