In a recent Instagram, the 63-year-old shared a throwback photo from one of those shoots, in which she wore a black leotard and posed with her hand in her coiffed (presumably ’80s) hair.

Valerie captioned the post with a simple hashtag and kiss emoji: “💋 #waybackwednesday.” Fans loved the blast from the past. “Gorgeous then and now. ❤️,” one person commented. “I grew up right alongside you! So nice to reminisce on the nostalgia of it all, and so nice to see the wonderful person you are today!” another added. “Valerie you’re timeless. ❤️💐,” someone else wrote. “I am so over the moon grateful on my birthday this year! 🙏🏻🤍,” she captioned an Instagram video honoring the occasion. “I have survived the hardest six years of my life and now I’m in Amsterdam (one of my favorite places on earth with sweet special memories 🥹) And on Thursday, I get to watch my son open for Metallica! 🤘🏻🎤 🎸 Life is good. ✨” She chose the song “Grateful” by Connor Price as a backtrack, which sings: “Yeah, I woke up feeling grateful, thankful. Everything that I prayed for, came, so I be feeling so grateful.”

Valerie shares photos from her past often, whether they’re from vintage shoots or her family’s photo archives. In another throwback, she shared a snap from a 2009 shoot with Ladies’ Home Journal in which she lays in the sand, her matching, beige-colored clothing splashed with water, and her long waves tangled and damp. She jokingly captioned the post: “‘washed up actress’😜.”
