"We are thrilled to add Crans-Montana Mountain Resort as our second owned and operated ski area in Switzerland," said Kirsten Lynch, chief executive officer of Vail Resorts. The conglomerate also owns Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis, another Swiss ski resort.

During the 2024-2025 season, Epic Pass holders will have unlimited and unrestricted access to Crans-Montana Mountain Resort and Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis, as well as limited access to European partner resorts like Verbier4Vallées, Les 3 Vallées, and Skirama Dolomiti.

Located in the Valais canton, Crans-Montana Mountain Resort boasts 4,593 feet of vertical and approximately 87 miles of trails. It's accessible from five airports and by train. Geneva, Milan, and Zurich are less than four hours away.

Vail Resorts acquired 84% ownership in Remontées Mécaniques Crans Montana Aminona (CMA) SA, Crans-Montana Mountain Resort's lift and mountain infrastructure operator. Vail Resorts also purchased 11 restaurants on and around Crans-Montana Mountain Resort.

A press release published by Vail Resorts stated that the valuation of these resort operations is CHF 118.5 million, or approximately USD 130 million.

The conglomerate will invest approximately CHF 30 million into Crans-Montana Mountain Resort over the next five years, which will focus on improving "gastronomy efficiencies" and "snowmaking capabilities," the press release noted.
