Vail Resort Slammed By 40 Inches Of Snow Over The Holiday Weekend

Vail Resort in Colorado gave the people what they wanted this weekend: face shots and fresh pow!

As it turns out, Utah wasn't the only state to benefit from the recent storm. In a post to Instagram yesterday, officials at Vail reported that "storm skiing has been full on the past few days, with nearly 40” in the last week!"

Vail offered "a huge thank you to our operations teams and ski patrol for keeping us safe."

"With a break in the flakes tomorrow, we’re ready for some sun, despite cold temps. Make sure to bundle up, and be on the lookout for sunny skies and powder stashes."

There's nothing quite like a bluebird day after a period of stormy skiing. Bring on that clear visibility and dark goggles!

Vail isn't the only Colorado resort to get hammered with new snow.

A-Basin received 32” since Sunday and over 40” since last Tuesday. Incredible!

According to the National Weather Service, as of January 16th, Arapahoe Peak saw 42 inches as of 4:53 p.m.

Breckenridge, got 6.5 inches as of 10:01 a.m. on the 14th.

Monday was the end of the week-long storm cycle at Steamboat that delivered about 43 inches at mid-mountain.

Telluride saw 14 inches over the last 72 hours.

Breckenridge came in hot with 36 inches over the last week, and 21 inches of that came in over the last two days.

Winter Park Resort got 26 inches over the last two days, and 35 inches over the last three days.

Crested Butte got 20 inches over the last 48 hours, and 48 inches in the last week.

Aspen Snowmass held its own with 8 inches in the last two days, and 10 inches in the last three days.

Beaver Creek got 32 inches over the last week.

Last but certainly not least, Keystone got 16 inches in the last two days.

No matter where you're skiing this week, it's probably powder filled if it's anywhere in ColoRADo!
