Vacationers in St. Croix Can Help Get Dogs Adopted by Transporting Them to the U.S.

This family came home with the best souvenir ever.

There's a wonderful animal welfare program out of the St.Croix/U.S.Virgin Islands entitled Paws for Paradise, and if you are considering a vacation in this gorgeous destination it may be something you wish to consider. According to the rescue's website, transferring pets from one shelter to another stateside has become common practice in the mainland, where a shelter or rescue group in one area has a need for adoptable pets, while another has an abundance of pets but few adopters.

TikTok account holder @Farindoran decided to take part in this program, and her family ended up with the most special reminder of their trip ever. Watch the following to meet adorable Croix.

The way this works is incredibly simple, the rescue states, "If you are traveling to the states and would consider helping a homeless animal find a home stateside, we ask that you contact us. We will confirm your itinerary and arrange for you to be met by a staff member the day of your departure at the airport. There is no cost to you. A staff member will bring the animal, paperwork, and the fee for travel."

@SF is a fan of this program, and comments, "I travel back and forth to STX. Try to take a pup to the states each time. It’s so rewarding." @Daveine adds, From a dog rescue owner I appreciate you and the life you are giving this beautiful soul. Thank you." @Jlimoge is a commenter after our own hearts, and says, "Now I must go on vacation."

What a wonderful idea to help a pet in need while soaking up the sun!
