Utah Ski Resort Starts Day With Fresh Snow And Powder Turns
Brighton Resort, Utah, continues to benefit from a statewide storm cycle.
This morning, the ski area woke up to an additional seven inches of snow, meaning powder turns were once again on the menu.
Brighton has received a solid 18 inches of snow in the past 24 hours, bringing the resort's snowfall total to an enviable 442 inches this season.
The snowfall is expected to last another day or so before conditions warm up later in the week, producing sunny, above-freezing conditions this weekend.
Brighton will probably hit its snowfall average of 500 inches at this rate after a slow start to the season.
Depending on the weather and snow conditions, the resort usually closes in April, so there's still time for a couple more storms to accumulate.
Last winter, Brighton bucked the trend and kept the Milly lift open through the end of May, providing skiers and snowboarders with a late-season terrain park offering.
As you might know, though, last winter was unusual—Brighton, like several resorts in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area, saw a historic amount of snow, meaning it could get away with a later closing date. This season's certainly been less snowy, but with several weeks left on the clock, anything could happen.
