Utah Ski Resort Sees First "Top-To-Bottom" Snowfall Of The Season

Today, Alta Ski Area, Utah, shared that they'd seen the season's first "top-to-bottom" snowfall.

The fresh snow combined with the golden and yellow changing leaves is pretty easy on the eyes. See it below.

As nice as the view is, the real excitement here is snow. And it's not just a little dusting on top -- Alta was covered all the way down to the base area. That's the first time the resort has seen total mountain coverage this season.

Since those photos were taken, the upper altitude regions still hold plenty of the white stuff. Here's what Sugarloaf Peak currently looks like via the resort's webcam:

Alta's Little Cottonwood Canyon neighbor, Snowbird, faired similarly well, sharing on X (formerly Twitter) today that they'd received six inches of new snow.

And get this.

According to NOAA, Alta's supposed to see three to five inches of snow today and tonight, plus another few inches tomorrow and the next day.

It's October! Alta's barely melted out after its record-breaking winter last season, and it's already nuking again? I don't know about you, but that Little Cottonwood Canyon traffic isn't sounding so bad anymore...

Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow. Something tells me Alta's going to be looking even snowier come sunrise.
