Utah Ski Resort Got Half A Foot Of New Snow Overnight

With 10 inches in the last two days, and 6 inches in the last 24 hours, Deer Valley, UT, is officially getting dumped on.

Media officials at Deer Valley Resort posted to X (previously twitter) that skiers at the resort "woke up to 6 inches of snow today at Deer Valley and it’s not stopping."

The mountain, as of today, has an 80 inch base, with a season total of 235 inches and 102/103 runs open.

All of their lifts are open.

The only aspect of the mountain that can be considered lacking at this time is their availability of groomed runs, as they have 56/103 runs groomed. But to some (including me), that's a plus.

Trees tend to preserve snow better and longer, especially when conditions are windy, like today.

Other resorts across Utah saw a dusting of snow overnight, though not quite as much. Snowbasin got 5 inches in the last 24 hours, PowMow saw 4, Solitude got 3, and Beaver Mountain also got 5.

This weekend, Deer Valley (as well as other Utah resorts) will see more snow on Sunday, with temps in the mid-twenties all weekend.

Deer Valley's mountain message yesterday confirms these predictions, saying, "We received 6 inches of snow overnight and we are expecting more today. Snow will likely continue through tomorrow."

Using Salt Lake City's weather forecast to compare predictions, it is predicted that there is a chance of snow every day except during the day on Saturday, where things are looking clear.

Let's hope the forecast holds up and blesses Deer Valley with a little more powder. It's looking likely at this time.
