Utah Resort Introduces The Newest (And Most Adorable) Member Of Its Canine SAR Team

Yesterday, August 15th, Deer Valley Resort, Utah, posted on Instagram to announce that it had begun training a new member of its canine SAR team.

Powder readers, let me introduce you to Maggie.

From the caption of the post:

"Meet Maggie, the newest member of the #DeerValley Avalanche Search and Rescue Team. 🐾 At 11-weeks-old, Maggie has already made great progress in her training and is getting along with her coworkers Rooster, Ninja and Tingo!"

Man, am I pleased to be meeting Maggie. Sometimes, it's the middle of the workday, you're feeling tired, and all you want to do is look at photos of cute dogs.

So thanks, Deer Valley, you guys have given me a much-needed boost.

Maggie's hard at work, too. While she's only a pup, Deer Valley's patrol team is already getting her trained so she can eventually become a productive member of the team. Talk about job perks for whoever's been charged with hanging out with Maggie all day.

Although "hanging out" is probably the wrong way to phrase it. Maggie needs to get her fundamentals dialed, as she and her coworkers play a vital role during tree well and avalanche rescue operations -- they're more than just furry friends -- they could save your life, too.
