Grammy-winning singer Usher is now slated to perform at the game’s annual concert on February 11, 2024. The streaming platform, Rock Nation, and the NFL made the announcement on Sunday via press release. A video mashup starring Usher and Kim Kardashian also dropped this weekend, and it refocused our attention on the show-stopping Audemars Piguet the singer sports in the his “Confessions, Pt. Crafted from yellow gold, the 39 mm Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar houses a skeletonized dial with no numerals. Date, month, and perpetual calendar displays top moving bells and whistles, alongside a moon phase indicator. The watch is powered by an automatic movement—visible from both sides of the case—with a 40-hour power reserve. While the series model is no longer made, a pre-owned example can set you back as much as $230,000 on the secondary market.

Usher sports the AP watch in the opener of his “Confession” music video, which now doubles as the opener for his official Super Bowl ad. He pairs the piece with a classic early aughts look in the video, including a layered t-shirt, track jacket, sport coat trio with denim jeans and an icy diamond necklace.

The Atlanta artist’s 2024 performance will mark his second Super Bowl performance, following a guest appearance he made on stage with the Black Eyed Peas at the game in 2011. This will be his first headlining performance. Jay-Z’s Roc Nation will produce the halftime show for the fifth year, and it will take place at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium for the first time. That seems only fitting given that Usher is in the middle of his “My Way The Las Vegas Residency.”

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher says in a statement. “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.” Seth Dudowsky, NFL head of music, also states “Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career, we couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
