As per various reports from reputable sources, the leadership of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee has given their endorsement to Salt Lake City's bid to host another Winter Olympics, expressing a preference for the year 2034.

The USOPC has conveyed that 2034 holds greater appeal as a hosting year when compared to 2030, primarily due to the scheduling of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Notably, Salt Lake City, Utah, has previously hosted the Winter Games in the year 2002.

The podium in 2022 for men's halfpipe was a United States sweep!

1. Ross Powers (USA)

2. Danny Kass (USA)

3. Ross Powers (USA)

The Women's podium still held a USA gold:

1. Kelly Clark (USA)

2. Doriane Vidal (FRA)

3. Fabienne Reuteler (CH)

During a media briefing, USOPC Chair Gene Sykes stated, "While there may be other prospective bids, none may surpass the appeal of Salt Lake City, Utah, for either the 2030 or 2034 Winter Olympics. However, we firmly believe that 2034 presents the ideal opportunity for the United States to host the Winter Games." He further added, "This preference has been communicated to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). We are prepared to collaborate with them for the 2030 bid if required, but they are actively exploring alternative bids for the 2030 Olympics."

It's worth noting that countries such as Sweden, Switzerland, and France are also in contention to host the 2030 Winter Olympics.
