'This Is Us' Fans Are Very Unhappy to Hear Season 5 Isn't Coming Back in April
Heartbreaking twists and tear-jerking storylines aside, This Is Us fans have endured a lot emotionally since season 5 kicked off in late October of last year.
After airing just four episodes, viewers had to wait nearly two months for the show to return to NBC. Then, after two more episodes aired, the show went on another break for a month. Three episodes later, This Is Us paused once again. Two more times the show has waited weeks before airing a new episode. And now, as announced following the latest season 5 episode entitled "Brotherly Love," there will not be a new episode of This Is Us for the rest of April.
When is This Is Us coming back to NBC?
All of this stop and go is understandably starting to make fans a little frustrated. That said, show creator Dan Fogelman did share back in mid-January that the cast and crew had encountered production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. We can only assume that some of the holdups have impacted the rollout of season 5 episodes this spring.
But fear not, fellow Pearson fans: This Is Us season 5 is set to return to NBC on Tuesday, May 11 at 9 p.m. ET. After that, there are only two episodes left in season 5, so it's unlikely that the show will break another time after this. On second thought, we're not so sure fans should be in a giant rush to finish season 5. After all, season 6 is set to be the last season of the series, and we're not at all ready to say goodbye to the Pearsons so soon.
At the same time, we are ready to see all of the pieces fall into place for the family and get our questions about that flash-forward scene finally answered. That will be a glorious, tear-filled day.
