‘This Is Us’ Fans Could Only Speak In GIFs Over Beth & Randall In the Finale

Last night was the finale of This Is Us season 3, and I don’t want to bore you with my many, many thoughts, so here’s what you need to know:

• KEVIN IS A DAD, but we don’t know who the mother is.

• Uncle Nicky is in the picture, at least in the future.

• Kate and Toby’s son Jack is alive, but we don’t know what’s up with Kate and Toby.

• Something is not right with future Rebecca.

• MOST IMPORTANT: Beth & Randall are still married and IN LOVE.

I just have to say I feel personally attacked. While my heart was so sure that Randall and Beth would be OK, I couldn’t help feed into the hysteria all season long. Especially with that final fight, it felt like Beth’s deep-seated fears and resentments might have caused an irreconcilable difference. Then in the finale, Beth had to go and drop that “I don’t see where the door is” line and my heart dropped. Luckily, Deja was there to go all Randall on the real-life Randall, and Beth is just a perfect woman.

Listen, all season, the TIU writers were LAUGHING at us while we spun out about the future of the world’s greatest onscreen couple, knowing all along this talk of divorce was ludicrous and the Pearsons would be moving to Philly so Randall doesn’t have to resign and Beth can pursue her dream of opening up a dance studio. Unfortunately, now it looks like they’re going to sink their claws into Kate and Toby’s marriage. Honestly, how dare they?

Watching Twitter during the finale was like watching a collective sigh of relief and happy tears in GIF form. Here, Beth & Randall stans react to the news in memes:
