'This Is Us' Season 5 Is Not Returning This Week
Update, March 4, 2021, 1:27 p.m. ET: Like last week, there will be no new season 5 episode of This Is Us airing on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.
As noted on NBC's website, This Is Us will return on Tuesday, March 16 at 9 p.m. ET. The last new episode to air was "The Ride," which was released on February 23.

This Is Us fandom, showrunner Dan Fogelman shared some important news about season 5 — and we're sorry to say, you're not going to like it.
At the end of the show's January 12th episode, fans were shocked to see Kevin (Justin Hartley) suddenly crash his car in Vancouver while trying to rush home to Madison (Caitlin Thompson), who is in labor with their twins. While fans were under the assumption that they'd find out what happened to Kevin the following Tuesday, Dan dropped some pretty devastating episode news on Twitter.
"No new episode of #ThisIsUs tonight - Covid-related production delays in LA have forced us to delay a few weeks. But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you'll hang in there with us. Sorry!" the NBC drama's creator tweeted on January 19.
Of course, fans immediately tweeted back at Dan how upset they were for having to wait "a few weeks" for the return of season 5, while also recognizing the importance of safety. "This is very sad. I understand the situation, but it was such a delight on Tuesday nights to finally be reunited with the Pearsons. We’ll wait... Take care," one fan wrote. "😭😭😭😭😭 nooooo, I mean I want you all safe cast and crew, but still hurts," another lamented. "NO I NEED ANSWERS! stay safe y’all!!," someone else said.
So when will This Is Us season 5 return in 2021?
Like many other shows, because of the growing number of coronavirus cases in Los Angeles County, This Is Us's return from its holiday hiatus was delayed. Although Deadline originally reported that new episodes would start back up on February 2, further production delays have pushed the air date back again. According to NBC, This Is Us season 5 will return with a new episode on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
We'll update this post if any other delays occur, but for the meantime, expect to see the next chapter of season 5 in one week. Like Dan said, hang in there!
