The Upcoming 'Chicago P.D.' Episodes Are Almost Too 'Shocking' for Network TV
Chicago P.D. returns to television in January 2020.
One of show's new stars, Michael Beach, told CinemaBlend that the upcoming episodes are almost too "shocking" for network TV.
Chicago P.D. (much like the rest of the One Chicago shows) is famous for its shocking deaths and dramatic cliffhangers.
Fans of the NBC drama are still wondering whether one of its original characters, Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), survived in November's shocking midseason finale. He was shot moments before the screen cut to "To be continued" and viewers have been spiraling ever since.

Now, one of Chicago P.D.'s newcomers just revealed information about the second half of season 7 that has us even more nervous for the upcoming episodes. Michael Beach, who plays Darius Walker on the crime series, admitted in an interview with CinemaBlend that the plot can get "surprisingly dark." Then, he revealed that fans should be prepared for more of that when Chicago P.D. returns in 2020.
"I can just tell you that episodes coming up are—I think is exactly what you were just saying—is that there's some shocking stuff that happens that you're like, 'Whoa, that's network TV?! Whoa!'" he said.
It's true that Chicago P.D. often pushes the limits of what viewers expect to air on a broadcast network. The show's 10 p.m. ET time slot allows it to get away with more than other NBC dramas like Chicago Med, which airs two hours earlier. And, based on Michael's comments, it sounds like P.D. won't be mellowing out any time soon.
