'Unwanted' Exotic Shorthair Kitten Adopted by Veterinarian She Was Surrendered To

Vets make a difference every single day, but one vet has gone viral on the internet for the lengths they went for one of their patients.

Dr. Katrina Warren shared the incredible story on her page, which shows the sweetest kitten who got a second chance from her vet.

It's hard to believe the story that Warren shared — the kitty was so cute! But sadly the story appears to be true. The clip shows the vet feeding the kitten food from a syringe.

"Minty was not wanted and surrendered to the vet," the video's onscreen caption reads. "She has been nursed back to health and adopted by the vet who cares for her," the caption states.

Awww, we just love a happy ending. Not only will Minty be safe and comfortable, she'll receive any treatment she needs for the forceable future.

The story has touched the hearts of so many people on the internet. "I’m happy to hear she had a great outcome and is back to health again," wrote one person. While another commenter was in plain old shock. "Not wanted? Not Wanted? NOT WANTEd?!?!????!!" they exclaimed. "Look at that face! Who could give that 'lil smush up? Maybe they had to," someone else wondered. "I swear if I didn’t have three already, I WOULD TAKE THAT BABY IN A HEART BEAT!!!!" chimed in another person.

What to Do Before Adopting a Kitten

Maybe this little one has inspired you to get a kitten of your own. Owning a cat is such a gift, but before heading down to your local animal shelter or rescue, there are a few things you'll need to consider.

Cats live a long time — which is great! But that does mean you'll need to be prepared to care for the animal longterm. Cats can have long lifespans, some even longer than 20 years. So just make sure that you're prepared to make the commitment.

If you're renting, you'll also want to talk to your landlord and make sure that you are allowed to have a cat on the premises. This is important — you don't want to bring the kitten home and quickly learn that they're not welcome.

Space is another issue. As your cat gets older it'll grow and need more space to roam and play. You don't need as much space as say a very active dog. But you do want to make sure that your cat has room to stretch out.

Then comes the fun part, picking out your future pet. This is the sweet reward for doing just a little bit of soul searching. Any cat owner out there would tell you it's so worth it.
