'Unsolved Mysteries' Volume 2 Is Dropping on October 19

The first six episodes of the Unsolved Mysteries reboot arrived on Netflix in July. And with most of the country still experiencing the dog days of the coronavirus lockdown, the timing couldn't have been better. With hours to spare and nowhere to go, viewers have been encouraged to help solve the show's terrifying, creepy, and downright unbelievable stories, with many people turning to Reddit to theorize about what actually happened in each case.

For anyone feeling shortchanged by the streaming giant for releasing only six episodes of the beloved true-crime series, fear not: More episodes are on the way. Here's what we know about Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 so far.

Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 will feature six more episodes.

A press release from Netflix introducing the show revealed, "Fusing signature elements from the original series with contemporary immersive, character-driven storytelling, the 12 new episodes are rooted in the experiences of ordinary people who have lived the unthinkable."

In the official announcement and trailer release for Volume 2, Netflix unveiled the titles of the six upcoming episodes: "Tsunami Spirits," "Stolen Kids," "Lady in the Lake," “Washington Insider Murder,” "A Death in Oslo," and "Death Row Fugitive."

The new episodes premiere on October 19.

It's a Monday release for Volume 2. "In six new episodes, Unsolved Mysteries profiles more unexplained disappearances, tragic events, and bizarre occurrences. Perhaps one viewer holds the key to solving these cases," the logline reads.

Fans of Unsolved Mysteries already knew that more episodes were coming in 2020. Decider previously reported that "a PR rep for Unsolved Mysteries confirmed … that Volume 2 will premiere later this year."

The first half of Unsolved Mysteries Season 1 was released just three months prior, on July 1.

Volume 2 of Unsolved Mysteries will continue to feature international cases.

Though the majority of Volume 1's episodes focused on mysteries in the United States, one episode, the chilling "House of Terror," followed the story of the Dupont de Ligonnès family in France.

This will continue in Volume 2, according to co-creator Terry Dunn Meurer, who told the New York Post, "Netflix is the perfect place—we can produce international stories and can also reach out to a worldwide audience to try and solve mysteries in different countries."

Case in point: the episode titles hint at a case in Oslo, while the trailer references a mystery involving Japanese culture.
