Living in New York, I walk — a lot. And while I love my heels just as much as the next person (looking at you), it’s just not the most feasible shoe to walk around in for long periods of time. So, I’ve made sneakers my go-to shoes since moving to the Big Apple in 2019. And while it certainly took a minute to find the best sneakers for me (my heels tend to rub easily and my feet usually get sore quickly), I found a few styles that work. That said, no sneaker is perfect — in a world where nothing is perfect — but there are ways to make a sneaker almost, well, perfect, and I’m about to share that with you. And lucky for you, they’re on sale for Amazon’s October Prime Day — but hurry, the massive markdown ends tonight.

If you’ve read some of my past works of art (and by that I mean, stories, which are, in fact, works of art), you’ll know that I’m a sucker for a good fashion hack. It was one thing I totally slept on for the longest time, but one night, I went down a rabbit hole and discovered there really was a hack for everything. A cute way to make your jeans fit perfectly? There’s that. An easy way to hide bra straps when you’re in a pinch? There’s something for that, too. And how about taking the comfort of your sneakers up a notch. Yeah, I know it, and I’m never going back.

My secret? Insoles. And before you say “insoles are for old people,” I ask you to take a second and hear me out. Because TBH, caring for your feet at an early age makes all the difference as you get older. And I’ve heard my fair share of family members complain about how they can only wear certain orthopedic shoes now because of mistakes they made when they were younger. I won’t do that, which is why I’m focusing on foot health now, and why Fulton’s insoles have been a game changer in my day to day.

Fulton’s insoles are unlike other insoles you might find in a drugstore aisle. They’re actually cool (hey, at least I think they are), and they’re super easy to use because you don’t have to cut them to fit your foot shape. Instead, you simply buy your normal shoe size — I’m an 8, so I buy an 8 in the Fulton insoles — and I can easily slip them into my shoes, no scissors required.

Aside from the ease of use, I say these are the superior insoles because they really are. They’re made from natural cork, which means they’re durable and sustainable, plus they’re actually designed by podiatrists to help with any aches and pains, literally. I’m talking arch, knee, joint pain, and back pain, all thanks to a custom cushioning that molds to your feet over time for a true, tailored-to-you fit.

It’s worth mentioning that Fulton has two types of insoles: an active model that’s especially great for runners and running shoes and an everyday style that’s, well, more for everyday use. I

I’ve tried both, and I'll continue to upgrade my sneakers by using them forever. Both are currently on sale for $42, which means I’ll be stocking up now.

Shop them while they’re 20 percent off during Prime Day before the discount ends tonight. You can thank me later.
